Medcenter One offers valet parketing Patients and visitors coming to Medcenter One are now greeted at the main entrance by uniformed valet parking attendants who whisk their cars off to a safe parking area and welcome patients and families into the main lobby. Medcenter One is the first hospital in North Dakota to offer this service. In an effort to increase access and ease parking difficulties for patients and visitors, Medcenter One has contracted with Park Med, a company who specializes in valet parking for hospitals, to provide valet parking and related services. At Medcenter One, the welcoming and valet services are free of charge and available for patients and visitors weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Medcenter One’s front lobby on Seventh Street. Colorful signs in and around the medical center direct patients and visitors to a valet who also manages wheelchairs and provides other miscellaneous entry and exit services. Self-parking areas will still be available for patients and visitors to Medcenter One. When patients are ready to leave, they can either call the valet station or present their ticket and their car will be quickly be brought to them. Should the patient or visitor not be ready to leave the hospital until after valet service hours, their key will be held at the security desk in the main entrance. “Valet parking was added as a convenience for our patients to help alleviate our tight parking situation,” said Jim Cooper, President and CEO. “And, we wanted to be responsive to feedback we’ve received from our patient surveys and the community about the lack of parking. For us it was fairly obvious. It makes sense, and it follows with the city’s direction to limit increased surface parking.” The new valet services offered at Medcenter One are designed to improve patients’ access to quality health care services and is another example of Medcenter One’s commitment to convenience and innovation.
