The Downtowners’ City Center Newsletter July 15, 2010 What You Will Find… □ Shop Walks Begin □ Street Fair 2010 □ Downtown Updates □ Upcoming Events □ Association News □ Online Presence Workshop Downtown Shop Walks Begin Hop, skip, and jump into all the downtown shops in a day… Downtown Shop Walks organized by the Downtowners will be starting at the end of August in (you guessed it) Downtown Bismarck! How Shop Walks work: The day of the Shop Walk, stop in any of the participating businesses and pick up a Shop Walk map. Shop around the businesses and have them stamp your map. After you’ve shopped your heart out, go to the designated gathering space, put your map in a drawing to win some great prizes! To be a participating business, email Kate@downtownbismarck.com. Its free for members, all we ask is that you submit a $10 gift for our drawing. Non-members have a $20 entry fee. Downtown Shop Walks 2010 Schedule-Saturdays: August 28 September 25 October 30 Halloween Walk November 27 Holiday Walk -------------------------------------------------- The Downtowners’ Street Fair 2010 37th annual fair… The map of the 37th Annual Downtowners’ Street Fair is starting to take shape. DBA staff are in the middle of mapping out the 7 block fair. The entries that have come in so far this year are exciting. Many of the veterans are back! Look for your favorites as you peruse the streets. We have also had a great showing from many new vendors from the arts, crafts, and food areas. 2010 is on pace to be a fantastic show! Make sure to ‘like’ the Street Fair page on Facebook and get all the latest up to date information. Be a sponsor of this annual event and receive advertising, get your message in front of 25,000+patrons, and help us continue to keep this great event going. The Downtowners', first established in 1906, is a 501c6 non-profit business association that promotes the downtown area and works to create a vital city center for its members and the entire community. Street Fair is a fundraiser for the Downtowners' non-profit. We are also looking for volunteers for this long time community event. Please call for more information. The restaurant and bar will be in the old RD Hair School building on the corner of 4th Street and Broadway. Newly elected City Commissioner Brenda Smith is now holding the Renaissance Zone Authority portfolio on the Bismarck City Commission. The Renaissance Zone includes most of Downtown Bismarck. The RZA evaluates projects based on the goals of the Renaissance Zone Program.
