PBR Fans, bring your PBR ticket to Ribfest and receive $2 off admission, any day, any time! Friday night is all country music bands, with Confederate Railroad headlining at 9:30pm! Saturday is Arch Allies, a national tribute band to Journey, REO Speedwagon, and Styx! The Downtowners are still taking sponsorships for Ribfest 2010. Businesses who participate will receive promotions and marketing at Ribfest 2010 that are seen by around 18,000+ patrons over three days. Get your business and message in front of this large crowd! With economic development, downtown growth, and TIF Funding, the city center is attracting a lot of political attention. Please stay tuned for the special E-Dart newsletter next week. We sent five questions regarding the downtown to the Mayoral Candidates as well at the six City Commission Candidates. Their answers will be sent to all DBA members. Transition Center looking into space in the Downtown Area… The Downtowners’ staff was recently invited to a preliminary planning lunch hosted by groups looking to locate a transition center in the former Kensington Hotel on 3rd Street. It was a vision session with many groups represented there. Hosting parties couldn’t give the DBA any specifics as to who would be residing there. It could be anyone from transitional homeless housing, residents coming from correction facilities, or mixed populations.
