E-Dart Newsletter April 21st 2010 What You Will Find… • Downtown Clean Up Day part 2 • Rip-Roarin’ Ribfest 2010 Live Music Schedule • 37th Annual Street Fair • Downtown Updates • Upcoming Events • Association News Downtown Clean Up Day At least one more clean up day needed… On April 17, a group of 6 volunteers, including the two Downtowners’ staff members, met at the Downtowners office at 10:00 am to clean up downtown. Two groups of three worked in two locations, spreading new mulch, picking up littler, trimming trees and pruning shrubs. There are still 40-50 small trees that need to be pruned, beds that need cleaning, and small trees that need to be un-tethered. These trees probably wouldn’t get pruned this year unless volunteers donate their time to assist us in making our city center even more beautiful. Because of the current lawsuit against the city’s TIF Fund, it’s very unlikely that the city will be able to bring back their part-time downtown clean up person. The DBA will organize another clean up day soon and hope to get more volunteers. A big thanks to Frank, Jason, Jeff, Jackson, Dawn, and Kate for their help and personal time on Saturday.
