Downtown Parking Ramp progress

Proposed ramp moves forward…

The Bismarck City Commission approved Urban Renewal plans for a proposed downtown

parking ramp on the corner of 6th and Thayer. The proposed ramp would hold between 410-490

parking spaces. The Commission vote was 4-0, with commissioner Schwab abstaining due to a

conflict.

“Park Smart” program details

More ways to park downtown…

Many businesses have asked for updated details on the Park

Smart Program for Downtown. Park Smart is a kind of parking

validation system for business patrons:

1. Patrons will park in one of three downtown ramps and

take a ticket. (see ramp locations below)

2. The participating businesses will supply the patron with a

park smart coupon that the businesses request and receive

from the parking authority.

3. Upon leaving the ramp, patrons place the entry ticket and

the park smart coupon in an envelope provided by the

parking authority. Leaving the ramp free of charge for the patron.

4. At the end of every month, the parking authority will return the park smart coupons along

with an invoice to participating businesses.

Three parking locations for your patrons using the Park Smart program:

A. 3rd St & Main Ave Ramp (enter on 3rd St.)

B. The Parkade Ramp- 6th St. & Broadway Ave (enter on 6th St.)

C. The Galleria Ramp- 7th St. & Broadway Ave (next to Radisson, enter on Broadway Ave)

The Downtowners' 2010 Rip-Roaring Ribfest…It’s a mouthful!

Dates announced and sponsorships available…

The third annual Ribfest is well on its way! Ribfest has

been created by the Downtown Business Association to

boost excitement and interest in Downtown Bismarck.

Ribfest will be held June 17th, 18th, & 19th in Parking Lot D

of the Bismarck Civic Center. Four national “ribbers” will

construct their multiple stories-high vendor booths in order

experienced!

This is an all around family-friendly event. Besides the great food, musical acts from around our

area and region will perform all three days. Fun on the Run Games will have inflatable games and

entertainment. These games are geared toward anyone older than 2 – in case some of you “grownup

kids” are interested. Plus: "NAME THE PIG" CONTEST! Kids! We need your help naming

the Ribfest Mascot! Tell us your name ideas for our little piggy...

New this year is the V.I.P tent. Get treated like a Ribfest Rock Star. RIP-ROARIN' ROAD

RACES 2010 are also back, June 19th at Pioneer Park with a 5K & 10K run, 5K walk, and Kid’s

Mile.
